You can always get more likes on Instagram. Getting more likes and a few more followers is a piece of cake with some tag tweaking (:

Instagram currently let their users to tag their posts with 30 tags at a time. You can, however, delete older tags to create space for the new ones. When you #tag a picture with a specific tag for the first time, any user who searches for that specific tag will see your post at the top of the list. Nevertheless, deleting and re-tagging does not take you to the top of this list once again, but simply categorizes for future use. So, what we do here about tags is, to mark our posts by the most popular tags at the right time. You can check which tags are the most popular anytime on Webstagram, and utilize them for better exposure of your posts. Here I have three tag clouds which would go for ANY post:

#1.

#jj #jj_forum #jj_challenge #ig #instagram #instagramers #igers #igersturkey #igersmanila #sgig #webstagram #statigram #instagramhub #instamood #instagood #instago #igaddict #igdaily #instadaily #teg #ignation

#2.

#photo #photography #iphoneography #iphonography #iphonegraphy #streetphotography #iphonesia #iphone #iphone4 #iphoneonly #iphonephotography #art #iphoneart #iphonephotooftheday #photooftheday #bestoftheday #picoftheday

#3.

#light #color #colors #cute #beautiful #cool #awesome #amazing #canon #nikon #fall #autumn #winter #popularpage #popular #10likes #15likes #20likes #30likes #40likes #50likes #60likes #100likes

Though you can keep these in your iPhone’s native Note App and copy&paste as you post, I heartily suggest you use Statigram. There you can manage your account, look at your IG statistics, give bulk likes or leave many comments at a glance. They even let you use emoji! Just login with your IG account and enjoy its many features.

After you’re done using these generic tags, you’ll want to tag your post according to its real features. Sky visible in your pic? Go tag it. Is it the sunset you’re picturing? Go tag it. You have full frontal female nudity in your post? Well you better send me a notification before it will be deleted. So here’s my 4th tag cloud which I handpick the appropriate tags for the highest efficiency:

#4.

#city #architecture #building #street #bird #dog #petstagram #pet #cat #cats #neko
#sky #cloud #clouds #cloudporn #sunset #sun
#nofilter #blackandwhite #bw #b #earlybird #hdr
#streetart #graffiti #fashion #car
#vintage #retro #hipstamatic
#nature #flower #flowers #tree #trees #food #foodporn
#me #baby #love #girl #portrait
#music #party #fun #people #smile #night
#red #green #white #yellow #blue #pink
#water #sea #ocean

Now you know which tags work best. Still, timing is crucial to utilize max efficiency with your tags and get even more likes. Tagging your post at peak times will dramatically increase the exposure, delivering more likes.
There are three main timezones in the IG world: Asian, European and American. And for each of them, afterwork hours work just fine. Go to the Clock App in your iPhone and add Manila, London and San Francisco to your world clock: . When it’s 8 PM in any of these cities, it is a good time to unleash the tags on your posts! Pause 30-45 minutes between each tagging & re-tagging session, to give IG some time to breathe (there is a simple yet long explanation why to do this, but I think you can figure that out yourself) and re-tag and re-tag till you run out of tags :)

You may not want to use all tagging space up (30 tags at a time) after you’re done with the 4th wave, because at a later point you may want to participate in some IG challenges. Usually these challenges require 2 tags at most to participate, so make sure you did not overtag your posts. IG challenges may or may not provide you extra exposure, depending on who’s hosting and how many IGers participate. You can follow these accounts and discover more on your own: @challengehub , @fordeu (a commercial account), @instagram_activities and your local IGers network (such as @igerssf).

Do not forget: The best way to get more likes is to post well-trimmed pictures. The better your pictures are, the more likes you will get. As you will start getting more likes, more and more people will start following you - leading even more likes on your posts.

On my next blog post, I will discuss advanced tactics on how to get more followers. But till then, keep on IGing and keep inspired! Happy IGing, all of you!
